We are seeking an enthusiastic and skilled Barista to join our team. The ideal candidate will be passionate about coffee, dedicated to providing excellent customer service, and able to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. As a Barista, you will be responsible for preparing and serving a variety of hot and cold beverages, taking orders, handling transactions. (preference will be given to people living with disabilities)

Key Responsibilities:

  • Beverage Preparation:
  • Prepare and serve a wide range of coffee, tea, and other beverages accurately and consistently, following established recipes and quality standards
  • Operate and maintain espresso machines, grinders, and other brewing equipment.
  • Ensure all beverages meet high standards for taste, temperature, and presentation.
  • Customer Service Excellence:
  • Greet customers warmly, take orders accurately, and process payments using a POS system.
  • Provide friendly, attentive, and efficient service.
  • Resolve customer complaints or concerns courteously and professionally, escalating issues to management when necessary.
  • Create a positive and welcoming experience for every customer.
  • Cash Handling & POS Operation:
  • Accurately handle cash and credit card transactions.
  • Maintain a balanced till throughout your shift.
  • Operate the point-of-sale (POS) system efficiently.
  • Cleanliness & Maintenance:
  • Maintain a clean and organized workstation, coffee bar, and seating area throughout the shift.
  • Regularly clean and sanitize equipment, utensils, and serving areas.
  • Restock supplies, cups, lids, and ingredients as needed.
  • Assist with opening and closing duties, including cleaning, stocking, and preparing for the next shift.
  • Product Knowledge:
  • Develop a thorough understanding of our coffee beans, roasts, and beverage ingredients.
  • Stay informed about new menu items, promotions, and daily specials.
  • Teamwork & Communication:
  • Collaborate effectively with team members to ensure smooth operations and a positive work environment.
  • Communicate clearly with colleagues and management regarding inventory needs, equipment issues, or customer feedback.
  • Adhere to all health and safety regulations.

Qualifications:

  • Experience: Previous experience as a Barista or in a customer service role, preferably in a cafe or restaurant setting, is a plus. (Entry-level candidates with a strong desire to learn are also encouraged to apply!)
