<p><b><span>About the role:</span></b></p><p><span>Morningstar’s Finance team is responsible for planning, forecasting, and analysing the company’s financial results, and also adherence to external regulations such as the FCA where necessary. </span></p><p><span>The team works collaboratively with our business groups to support them with timely and insightful information to make informed business decisions.</span></p><p></p><div><p>The Senior Regulatory Accountant will join the EMEA West Wealth team, reporting to the Wealth Financial Controller – EMEA West, and will support performance reporting, regulatory reporting, and financial controls for Morningstar’s UK operations. Working within the Morningstar accounting framework, the role produces financial reporting aligned with US GAAP and regulatory reporting that meets local requirements.</p><p></p><p>The position plays a key role in ensuring compliance with regulatory obligations, including preparing and submitting accurate, timely, and complete regulatory reports. The Senior Regulatory Accountant will be instrumental in regulatory and statutory reporting, ensuring all deadlines are met, while also identifying improvements and efficiencies. The position is based in the London office, where the team works on-site four days a week.</p></div><p><b><span>Responsibilities:</span></b></p><ul><li><p><span>Prepare and review cashflows to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements</span></p></li><li><p><span>Monitor and ensure compliance with local and international regulations such as the FCA requirements, SOX for US companies and keeping updated with any changes that may impact financial reporting requirements</span></p></li><li><p><span>Develop and implement processes for regulatory reporting, ensuring that all financial activities and reports are compliant with regulations. This includes monitoring changes in reporting standards and implementing them promptly</span></p></li><li><p><span>Identify opportunities to streamline and improve regulatory reporting processes to drive efficiency</span></p></li><li><p><span>Prepare submissions to regulators such as FCA submissions, MIFIDPRU 8 disclosures, ICARA process, modelling of regulatory and liquid capital, and wind-down scenarios and stress-tests for the regulated entities</span></p></li><li><p><span>Support the preparation of financial statements ensuring they are prepared timely and in compliance</span></p></li><li><p><span>Support external auditors during the audit process, ensuring timely resolution of any issues raised</span></p></li><li><p><span>Support and assist finance professionals to ensure high-quality work and contribute to team development</span></p></li><li><p><span>Liaise with the compliance team to ensure all reporting requirements are met and to address any compliance-related issues</span></p></li></ul><p></p><p><b><span>Requirements:</span></b></p><ul><li><p><span>A bachelor’s degree or equivalent, as well as qualified ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent international accounting qualification.</span></p></li><li><p><span>In-depth knowledge of FCA reporting requirements and regulations.</span></p></li><li><p><span>Familiarity with the financial services regulatory landscape in the UK.</span></p></li><li><p><span>Experience in dealing with regulatory bodies and a proven track record in managing FCA reporting and compliance.</span></p></li><li><p><span>Knowledge of local GAAP / IFRS is essential, knowledge of US-GAAP is desirable.</span></p></li><li><p><span>Excellent communicator with ability to build strong relationships at all levels.</span></p></li><li><p><span>Enthusiastic, approachable and able to engage operational managers on financial matters.</span></p></li><li><p><span>Analytical and detail-oriented with a passion for ensuring accuracy.</span></p></li><li><p><span>Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel essential, advanced skills in Microsoft PowerPoint are desirable.</span></p></li><li><p><span>Hands-on experience with Oracle Financial Systems and Hyperion Financial Management is preferred.</span></p></li></ul><p><span> </span></p><p><span> </span></p><p><span> </span></p><p></p><p></p><p></p><p>Morningstar's hybrid work environment gives you the opportunity to collaborate in-person each week as we've found that we're at our best when we're purposely together on a regular basis.
